Step 1

After receiving your child's original artwork, we take a very high resolution photograph of each artwork using a digital SLR camera or use a scanner for smaller sizes.

Step 2

We do our best to closely match the original colour of the artwork. If the original artwork is faded or needs to be restored, we will do up to 10 minutes of photo restoration.

Step 3

We carefully and thoughtfully dress up all the artwork to create your unique masterpiece. You can title the artwork if you wish.

Step 4

We send you a soft proof (an image viewed on your screen). Once you approve, we send it for printing using archival inks. Then as a framed or unframed work, it is ready for pickup or shipping.

You can see samples at select Trade Show events in the Vancouver area. Please check the Events section for a schedule. To see samples on a semi-permanent display, check the locations in the contacts section. Samples can also be shown by appointment. Please email us to schedule an appointment.

Dressed Art Solo on printed photo paper has one artwork with a finished size of 8" x 10". The actual size of this artwork reproduction is smaller than 8" x 10" because it also includes a digital mat to dress it up, so that it is ready to frame. Here, the total size of the art content plus the containing mat measures 8" x 10". Dressed Art Solo on fine art paper does not include a digital mat to dress up the artwork, so the art content fills the entire 8" x 10". Extra margins can be added to fit your matting and framing options.

At present, we accept cheques. We are working towards using a third party service for online purchases (e.g. Paypal) and also be able to accept some credit card payments.

You can certainly simply frame your child's artwork if there is only one you want to keep. However, Dressed Art archives your child's artwork in a collage (for multiple pieces) so that it can last at least 75 years or longer when using archival fine art paper. Chances are that the medium your child uses will fade in time since it is not very often we give our toddler, artist quality pigments and acid-free paper to use when fingerpainting.

From as little as one for creating a Dressed Art Solo, to a mini collection of 6, 12, 24 or even 40. We can customize the layout depending on the number of artwork pieces you have. We recommend that you check the Pricing section for the standard layout and its equivalent number of artwork pieces.

Certainly, for bigger sizes, we photograph and resize the artwork to make it all fit together in a pleasing layout. Ideally, the collection of artworks will be either all portrait or all landsape. We may artistically crop some artwork to enhance the overall look.

Each miniature artwork piece in the Dressed Art collage is no less than 3" in width for landscape orientation and the proportional width and height for the portrait orientation. We adjust the size of each artwork to optimize the print size you've chosen.

It takes approximately 2 weeks from the time we receive your child's artwork for Dressed Art Solo and about 4 to 6 weeks for Dressed Art collage, to be ready for pick up or shipping.

Yes, of course. It will be packaged together with your Dressed Art Collage or Solo.

The short answer is, yes. However, it is best to leave it for us to use the best way to capture your child's artwork digitally. Please request our image submission requirements, by email or the contact form.

Hopefully, you won't want to do that, but you are welcome to cancel anytime before approving the proof. If we have already started work on your order, we will deduct the amount of work done from your deposit. We will issue a cheque for the balance when you pick up your child's original artwork.

We would like to keep the original composition as intact as possible. However, we will do the necessary cropping and at your specific request at the time of order, we can do photo restoration (up to 10 minutes is included in the price, if the art needs to be restored) for faded artwork or enhancing the colour of really lightly drawn or painted art.

We will always do our best to match the digital image to the original artwork. However, if you have faded artwork or your child has painted very lightly, we can enhance the colour and make it more natural looking. At your specific request we can do photo restoration (up to 10 minutes is included in the price) or combine two separate artworks into one, if you would like.

Yes, I will need more information on the condition of the artwork. The artwork must be removable from the frame and glass in order for us to properly scan or take a photo of it.

We try to use standard frame sizes to make it easier for you and to keep costs down for custom framing. Please see our Pricing section for the most popular sizes recommended. We can also do custom sizes to fit the wall that you will be hanging your child's masterpiece on.

We can print up to 40 inches in width and 60 inches or more in height using archival paper, non-archival paper, or canvas.

We do not have an art class, but we have a volunteer run art playgroup. It is meant to create an environment so that your child can artfully express themselves. We (as parents/caregivers) are there to support and guide. Each parent or caregiver is encouraged to share their tips and other info relevant to the group.

At the time of order, let us know that you are using a coupon and quote the coupon code and/or source (e.g. The Family Book, trade show, special events). We will calculate your total cost and apply the discount. Then, please include the actual coupon when you submit your child's original artwork.
